Balancing Your Band Saw Wheels

While replacing the tires on my band saw, I realized one of the wheels was out of balance. Instead of drilling holes around the wheel to balance it, I decided to try something different.

I gave the wheel a gentle spin and let it come to rest to determine the “heavy” spot. Then, I wound about several inches of copper wire around the opposite spoke. Finally, I spun the wheel and snipped off pieces of wire until the wheel was balanced.
