Easy Veneering: Adhesive-Backed
Among the easiest veneers you can work with are adhesive-backed veneers or as most people refer to them — “Peel-and-Stick” veneers. When you use these veneers you won’t need to have any special tools, equipment, or skills to achieve professional-looking results.

One of the great time savers is that you can cut this veneer to size and shape with just a pair of scissors or a razor blade.
You’ll find peel-and-stick veneer in a variety of wood species. They can be ordered in 16"-wide sheets in lengths of 24", 48", and 96". Edging strips are also available in 8’ rolls of 1", 1½", and 2" widths.
When it comes to applying this veneer, you’ll find that it’s almost foolproof. Just peel off the release paper on the back of the veneer and then stick it down on any clean dust-free surface.
But be aware. Adhesive-backed veneers sometimes don’t stick well to bare wood surfaces. So, you’ll want to finish the bare wood with a couple of coats of paint or varnish before you apply the veneer to your project surface.
Using peel-and-stick veneers is simple. All you need is a few basic tools and they look great.
